I’ve seen the reactions towards other cosplayers, and I would never want that to be me.

Don’t be afraid and cosplay as whoever you want!  I see a LOT of people suggesting to chubby girls who want to cosplay MLP to “just do Pinky because she eats tons of sweets.”  And while it’s great that lots of people have the headcannon of her as chubby, it is BS that Pinkie Pie is the only pony chubby girls can cosplay well.

Pinkie Pie is one of my least favorite ponies, but I’m a plus size.  Guess I shouldn’t cosplay MLP then, or suck it up and cosplay as a character I don’t like because that’s what “fits” me.  Fuck that.  Rarity is my favorite pony, and guess what?  I did a damn good cosplay of her.  Oh and my two friends who cosplayed ponies with me?  They aren’t skinny either, but guess what, there wasn’t a Pinkie in our group!  If one of them wanted to do her I’m sure it would have been adorable, but they chose not to, and that’s okay!

In any fandom, never feel limited to the “chubby/pudgy/busty/fat” character.  Cosplay whoever the hell you want, and make it look good on you.  Adjust the outfit if you need to or want to, but DO NOT let yourself be limited by the role you’re expected to play.
